User Impact on Energy-Consumption of Buildings

Presented by Kirsten Gram-Hanssen.

This course is tailored to engineers, students and others with an interest in the energy consumption of buildings.

The course will highlight how recent energy-efficiency regulations have failed to lower energy consumption from heating households, because the regulation does not take into account the use, or the demand for housing.

It will go further in depth on two factors with decisive impact on why these regulations does not provide the estimated savings on energy consumption. The first factor is the fact that the average square meters, per person, is increasing. The second factor is the trend towards heating our houses to a higher temperature. For both these factors, this course will provide examples on how to change the regulation, to achieve a lower energy consumption.
