This course will cover the basics of microcontrollers with examples based on Texas Instruments MSP430 microcontroller.

The intricacies of microcontroller architecture, contrasts between microcontrollers and microprocessors, a comparison of various microcontroller architectures, and a detailed examination of Von Neumann vs. Harvard architecture. Then covering each of the common peripherals of microcontrollers and their uses.
